Midnight Club: Los Angeles' slick, but repetitive
I like racing games as much as the next person, but I can honestly say I don't understand Midnight Club: Los Angeles.

BioShock an art deco punk atmospheric triumph
If you're a fan of shooters but have got tired of killing terrorists, monsters and members of the Axis of Evil, BioShock might be a nice change for you.

Terror tweets
Twitter is the new tool of terrorists. Or at least U.S. Army thinks it could become so, Wired reports. A document put together by the army's 304th Military Intelligence Battalion states the microblogging software could be used co-ordinate bombings or other types of attacks.

'FaceBreaker' is broken
I've always been a fan of fighting games: Karate Champ, Ring King, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Virtua Fighter, Tekken, Soul Calibur, I can waste endless hours on any of them. But I can't add FaceBreaker to this list as it's simply a terrible game.

Everything Google touches turns to Chrome
It's been about a month now since the launch of Cuil, the search engine that was supposed to take down Google, developed by ex-Google engineers. It fizzled out after a less than stellar launch. Now Google is trying to break into a different area of the Internet itself with its new browser – Chrome.

Is the iPhone worth it?
Well it seems Rogers Wireless shocked everyone in the country July 9, when it appeared to cave on its previously announced pricing plans for the Apple iPhone 3G. As a promotional offer from the July 11 launch date to Aug. 31, when you order your three-year plan, you can add six gigabytes of data transmission a month through the cellphone's 3G network (or "mobile Internet," as it's also called) for only $30, which could calm down some angry iPhonephiles.

Is game piracy coming to an end?
At the recent Wedbush Morgan Securities conference, Nolan Bushnell announced that a a new motherboard chip will eliminate the piracy of PC games, according to GamesIndustry.biz.

Home sweet Home
For those who aren't aware Home will be a social network with a three-dimensional graphical interface much like Second Life.

Exotic Dance Dance Revolution
I honestly didn't know how to react when I first saw this story on Tech Digest about how Peekaboo, a stripper merchandise website best known for the Carmen Electra-endorsed Electra pole is looking for a partner to help develop a pole dancing game for the Wii.

File-sharing victory, sort of
Last Friday, the Members of the European Parliament backed an amendment to a report that would put pressure on ISPs to block access to Internet pirates. But thankfully the amendment stating that such bans would violate "civil liberties and human rights."

Windows closing for Vista users
If you have Windows Vista installed and you recently upgraded to Service Pack 1, you might have noticed a little problem. If your copy of the somewhat sought-after operating system is not 100 per cent legal, you may have had your activation crack disabled.

The technology of cheating
Well, Facebook has been getting a lot of flack, recently. First, it was turning its users into possible targets of al-Qaida and now it is being used to cheat in university.

You have been poked by al-Qaida
So it seems Yahoo is turning down Microsoft's bid for the company. And I can't help but laugh. And not just because Microsoft was told "no." Though I would love to have seen Steve Ballmer's face when he read it in the dailies.

Bidding for Yahoo
So it seems Yahoo is turning down Microsoft's bid for the company. And I can't help but laugh. And not just because Microsoft was told "no." Though I would love to have seen Steve Ballmer's face when he read it in the dailies.

'Assassin's Creed' a hit
So by now, I imagine many of you have already picked yourself up a copy of Assassin's Creed, considering it was one of the most talked about titles of 2007 - and well some of 2006. But for those of you that haven't, you might want to reconsider because despite its flaws, it is still one of the best games from last year.

A Scrabulous mess
So my Facebook life (not counting the odd television or movie quiz) mainly consists of playing Scrabulous. For the few of you who aren't aware, Scrabulous is an unsanctioned online Scrabble game that was first available at Scrabulous.com but has gained notoriety as an extension or application for the social network that allows you to play other users who have the app installed.

'Tony Hawk' not for amateurs
If you get to a point where you can't seem to do the “simplest” of tricks, you may as well just give up.

Worst tech of all time
One of the products that gathered some media buzz at the recent Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas was the new Taser/mp3 combo Taser C2. (Technically, the mp3 player is in the carrying case, or holster. But you can get the Taser in leopard skin.) But as bad as the musical stun gun is, there is worse. And to prove it, here's my list of the worst tech of all time.

Gadgets for the holidays
Well, it's that time a year again. Time out to shell out the cash and plastic to buy gifts for all the poeple who have an eye-line on your wallet. And, of course, if you're lucky you got people doing the same for you. But the eternal question remains How do you buy something for someone that they actually want without them knowing or buying it themselves?

No goal for 'FIFA 08'
When it came to the soccer video games, I was decent. At least better than I was at other sports titles. Or rather, that's what I thought until I picked up FIFA 08.

I'm so vain I probably think this article is about me
I came across an article the other day that made do an "Is this really news?" doubletake. Technology-blog.com posted a story with the headline, "Google favored over other search engines." Well, no duh. I'm sure at least 50 per cent of people who use the Internet on a daily basis, don't even know there are other search engines and certainly can't imagine doing a search in the pre-Google world.

'Dark Mirror' has some cracks
Well, to be honest, the new Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror doesn't require nearly as much stealth as say Splinter Cell: Double Agent, but it offers the same type of third person shooter gameplay, complete with wall hugging, similar weapons and special goggles to see better in dark areas and target the enemy.

'NHL 08' fails to score
Other than those rare times, I stay pretty much in the dark about the sport. And hockey video games don't provide much interest for me either, so you might want to take this review of NHL 08 with a warehouse full of salt.

Printing pretty prints
You might think that the load times between the holes of Tiger Woods are too long, but as your probable elder and perhaps better, just like the old folks say, you’ve never had it so good.

Help out Google index pics online
If you're looking to waste some time online and are in a place where you don't feel comfortable surfing for porn, such as your desk at work, at a school computer lab or jumping on a wifi connection while your waiting for a priest to absolve your sins at a church confessional, then perhaps you should take a look at Google Image Labeler.

'Heavenly Sword' cuts right to the action
What better way to start off an action game than by throwing the protagonist into hordes of enemies who she must fight until the enchanted weapon she wields drains all her life force and she dies? Well, that's exactly how Heavenly Sword begins.

Illegal downloading killed my puppy
In light of the recent decision by the U.S. Courts to order a young mother to pay $222,000 to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for downloading 24 crappy songs (I've seen the list, Janet Jackson and Richard Marx are on it), I thought it was prudent to share with you the various ways you can download, listen to and view all the “illegal” content you want.

Shows in Small Doses
I was surfing around mindlessly a couple of weeks ago and I found something that made my jaw drop in horror. I came across a story about a new show called quarterlife, a new "television" series produced exclusively for the Web.

'Quake' demo hits low on the Richter scale
If you follow shooters - and based on what gets released by most gaming companies these days, you most likely are - then you're undoubtedly salivating over the upcoming Quake release. Well, here's your chance to get a sneak preview.

Finding the right laptop
So the school year is upon us again and I'm sure the first thing on all your minds is: "What type of laptop can my parents buy me to best help me with my studies?" A laptop is essential to your education as it allows you to take better take notes during class, keep up-to-date on the news of the day during your lunch hour, engage in academic online social activities with fantasy characters and study for your advanced female anatomy class while lying on top of the covers in your underwear... Seriously, though, a notebook computer's portability does make it ideal for many situations.
