Techcessories just for herThe ladies like their tech too, so how about creating gadgets and accessories that are not just functional, but are also attractive, stylish and designed with a lady in mind? There's no reason not to, so here are a few items unveiled at the International CES 2014 that are just for her that would appeal to any Geekette, or Digital Diva.

Bluetooth Clutch Purse Speaker

Acoustic Research (AR) by VOXX, a company known for their infamous amps unveiled at CES, a Wireless Bluetooth speaker that can certainly cater to any modern woman. The runway-inspired gadget isn’t your typical plastic box with a padded speaker grille.  It looks more like a quilted-tufted clutch purse with soft rounded corners and leather detailing than a square audio accessory. And it's lightweight too, so it's easy to carry around. You can add an optional carrying-strap, if that's your style.

But it is a speaker and will wirelessly connect to all Bluetooth compatible devices up to 30 feet away. It also has a built-in microphone, so you can make calls hands-free - although be cognizant if you're looking to talk in private, as you may appear to be talking to your purse.  It has a rechargeable battery that should be good for up to 15 hours of playback.  No need to fumble inside your purse for its controls, the play, pause, track and volume controls are built-in up top.

The AR for her Wireless Bluetooth speaker will come in white, black and cayenne polka dot and will be available in Spring 2014 for $79.99.

Techcessories just for herPolka-Dot Cables

Since we're talking polka dots, in the event you need to charge or sync your devices, why settle for plain white or black cables when like your speaker purse, you can get polka dots and other funky designs too?
AR is also introducing, as part of their AR for Her Spring 2014 collection, a series of charging cables with multiple connectors for 30-pin, lightning and micro-USB devices. Not only are they fashionable, they're well made, using Apple certified and approved materials. They're also flat, not only great for showing off their design; it makes them tangle-free so they won't get bunched up in your purse. Prices range from $12-$25 and will be available this spring.

Techcessories just for herChic Security Friendly Cases

Designed for the mobile woman, Mobile Edge unveiled Herringbone Element Briefcases; a new line of chic and stylish yet checkpoint-friendly notebook and tablet cases. The ScanFast Element models are designed with dedicated notebook and tablet compartments. The Herringbone v-shaped weave is accented with black Koskin trim, contrast stitching and polished nickel fittings. It's functional too with extra zippered compartments, a trolley strap, a detachable padded shoulder strap and an exterior pocket.
One nifty feature, that you can’t really see, is its Wireless Security Shield built into the accessories pocket. It’s lined with zinc fibres that shield your Bluetooth signal from prying hackers.
The ScanFast Herringbone Element Briefcases by Mobile Edge come in two sizes and five colours and weigh less than 3 pounds each. The smaller model MESFEBHS retails for $99.99 and is designed to hold notebooks up to 14.1” – although apparently the newer 15-inch MacBook Pro will fit; the larger model, MESFEBHL, retails for $119.99 and holds 16-inch laptops.

Techcessories just for herJune Keeps You Sun Savvy

Our final gadget can’t help protect you from UV rays, avoid sun damage and prevent premature skin aging directly, but it can tell you how. JUNE by netatmo is a sun-sensitive bracelet you can wear on your wrist that measures, in real-time, the sun’s intensity (UV) and helps monitor your daily sun exposure. When partnered with its companion iOS app, the team becomes your own personal sun protection coach. For example, based on your skin type and of course your sun-related habits, June will remind you when you need to apply sun cream, when to wear your hat or when it’s time to put on those Ray Bans. At the end of the day you can also see a summary of how long you were in the sun and when the UV was at its highest point.

June looks nothing like a monitoring device; in fact French jewelry designer Camille Toupet created it as a stylish accessory designed in the spirit of a diamond. It comes in 3 colours, platinum, gold or gunmetal. JUNE by netatmo can also be worn as a brooch and is expected to be available in the 2nd quarter of 2014. It will retail for $99 U.S. and is compatible with iPhone 4S and up.
