E3: Nintendo doubles down on games

If there is one thing gamers can take away from Nintendo’s E3 presentation is that they are beefing up their Switch library.

Showing us more of the games they have already announced and tossing in a few surprises, Nintendo is bolstering its support of the Nintendo Switch.

Some of the surprises included a new Kirby game for 2018, a traditional Pokemon game announced for the Nintendo Switch (currently in development), Metroid Prime 4 (also in development) and a fantastic looking Yoshi 3D game for 2018.

Here are the other significant Nintendo announcements.

Rocket League

The popular vehicle soccer game is coming to the Nintendo Switch. It will allow for cross network play and there will be special add-ons exclusive to the Nintendo Switch.

Release date: Holiday 2017.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2

More big swords and more big bosses as a new hero escourts a campion to Elysium.

Release date: Holiday 2017.


Made exclusively for the Nintendo Switch, Yoshi’s textures and 3D environment look astounding.

Release date: 2018.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Expansion Pass

Breath of the Wild is getting two expansions which feature Trial of the Sword, Hero’s Path mode, new armor and a Master mode.

Release date: The Master Trials, June 30th, 2017. The Champions’ Ballad, Holiday 2017.

Super Mario Odyssey

In the new trailer, it was revealed that Mario’s hat allows him to control and take over various vehicles, creatures and people.

Release date: October 27th, 2017.

Fire Emblem Warriors

Brother and sister warriors team to free a kingdom and fight an evil dragon.

Release date: Fall 2017.


In his own game for the Nintendo Switch, Kirby and his friends are ready to gobble everything in sight.
