Meet Matt Harris - Host of 'Torrent'

Bringing the best video podcast segments on the Internet to the living rooms of our viewers!
 

Matt is an integral part of the team. He is the Associate Producer/Segment Producer on Call For Help, Associate Producer for Gadgets & Gizmos, and Producer/Host on 's weekly show Torrent. His work for the channel varies from the studio to shooting out in the field. He has produced segments for Call For Help at locations as diverse as the Air Canada Center and he even sailed down the St. Lawrence River on a Naval Frigate. Matt now shoots each episode of Torrent in Toronto, although the show sometimes takes him further a field. He traveled to the South By Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas for our premier episode. He also attended Vloggercon 2006 in San Francisco and met up with podcasters from all over the world while producing two episodes of Torrent. When not Torrenting, Matt provides his production expertise to the video podcasts Lab Rats and CommandN.

Prior to , Matt worked as a Production Assistant for OMNI Television in Toronto, where he learned his craft in the control room. He has also worked as an Assistant Producer for The Team 1050 CHUM, a live daily morning radio show - although he doesn't miss the 3am start time!

A native of Barrie, Ontario, Matt moved to Toronto in 1998 to study at Ryerson University. He graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor's degree in Radio and Television Arts and in his final year, he directed the annual TARA Awards.

He lives in Toronto with his English girlfriend. When he's not working, he enjoys hockey (Matt's a die-hard Boston Bruins fan), watching movies and traveling to new places.
